CRIMINAL LAWAND PROCEDURE
(a) A person who knowingly or intentionally removes the vocal chords of a trained attack dog commits cruelty to an animal, a Class A misde meanor. (b) It is a defense to a prosecution under this section that the accused person reasonably believes that the conduct was necessary to prevent a seri ously injured dog from prolonged injury. 35-46-3-14. Bestiality. Aperson who knowingly or intentionally per forms an act involving: (1) the sex organ of a person and the mouth or anus of an animal; (2) the sex organ of an animal and the mouth or anus of a person; (3) the penetration of the human female sex organ by an animal’s sex organ; or (4) any penetration of the animal’s sex organ by the human male sex organ; commits bestiality, a Level 6 felony. 35-46-3-15. Destroying animal by placing in decompression chamber or electrocution. (a) This section does not apply to the follow ing: (1) A state or federally inspected livestock slaughtering facility (for conduct author ized by IC 15-17-5 and rules adopted under that chapter). (2) n animal disease diagnostic laboratory established under IC 21-46-3-1. (3) A postsecondary educational institu tion. (4) A research facility licensed by the United States Department of Agriculture. (b) As used in this section, “animal” has the meaning set forth in IC 35-46-3-3. (c) A person who knowingly or intentionally destroys or authorizes the destruction of an animal by placing the animal in a decompression cham ber and lowering the pressure of or the oxygen content in the air surrounding the animal commits a Class B misdemeanor. 35-46-5-1. Unlawful transfer of human tissue. 35-46-5-1.5. “Aborted” defined, “tissue”, “organ”; penalty 35-46-5-2. Unlawful cloning. 35-46-5-3. Unlawful transfer of human organism. 35-46-5-4. Falsification of documents for organ or tis sue research or transplantation. 35-46-5-1. Unlawful transfer of human tissue. (a) As used in this section, “human organ” means the kidney, liver, heart, lung, cornea, eye, bone marrow, bone, pancreas, or skin of a human body. (b) As used in this section, “item of value” means money, real estate, funeral related expenses, and personal property. “Item of value” does not include: (1) the reasonable payments associated with the removal, transportation, implan tation, processing, preservation, quality control, and storage of a human organ; or (2) the reimbursement of travel, housing, lost wages, and other expenses incurred by the donor of a human organ related to the donation of the human organ. (c) A person who intentionally acquires, receives, sells, or transfers in exchange for an item of value, a human organ for use in human organ transplantation, commits unlawful trans fer of human organs, a Level 5 felony. 35-46-5-1.5. “Aborted” defined, “tissue”, “organ”; penalty. (a) As used in this section, "aborted" means the termination of human pregnancy with an intention other than to produce a live birth or to remove a dead fetus. The term includes abortions by surgi cal procedures and by abortion inducing drugs. (b) As used in this section, "fetal tissue" includes tissue, organs, or any other part of an aborted fetus. (c) This section does not apply to the proper medical disposal of fetal tissue. (d) A person who intentionally acquires, receives, sells, or transfers fetal tissue commits unlawful transfer of fetal tissue, a Level 5 felony. (e) Aperson may not alter the timing, method, or procedure used to terminate a pregnancy for the purpose of obtaining or collecting fetal tissue. A
